Show Notes

Maybe you are childless - or you know of someone who has gone through the agonies of trying to conceive without success, or lost a child in utero, childbirth or through other means - for many this is a silent, heartwrenching grief that few ever know about - so how do you go about being empowered by this experience. My guest, Helen Segal, will share this and so much more in this episode.

Helen is a Therapeutic Counsellor, registered with the MBACP in the UK.

She has almost 3 decades of personal growth, 20 years embracing her own creative healing and 19 years as an Art Teacher.

Helen has also had many losses in her life and personally knows the devastation of failed fertility treatments and each month seeing that dream of a family not come true.

She combines her training, experience and empathy, to create safe spaces to talk and express difficult emotions, which can get stuck due to society’s unhelpful attitudes and denial of pain and transition. Plus she uses the power of the arts to help people transition throught their pain to healing.

In this episode, you will learn the following:

  • How you don't always need words to express your feelings
  • When grief and loss hit - it really is okay to feel awful
  • Why it is important to set internal and external boundaries
  • How your creativity can teach you to heal

Quote:

"It's like my heart is broken. I feel broken. And and just laying there, just crying, just, just devastated with the, with the powerlessness of it…" ~ Helen Segal
